Can’t Fire Half the Argument (Episode 2)
Trump made a critical managerial and human resource error by firing half an argument. In firing Stacey, he made a statement that the conflict was at the heart of Synergy's failure, which was a valid decision. However, in not firing Brent, he encouraged his outlandish behavior. Fire both or fire none: Trump encouraged dissent and conflict for the purpose of driving up ratings.
Bill Rancic claimed that Stacey and Brent had a "he said, she said" argument and that no one would really know what happened. This is false since we all witnessed the argument on tape. Go back and review the dailies, Bill.

Guys - I think you are wrong in this case. First - Stacy was fired because she picked a bad location (and worse - she is NYC native - shame!). And Pepi's failures for many: 1) couldn' re-direct the team 2) slept in - they didn't get to the street until 11:30.
And for Stacy - she couldn't handle Brent and that looked like weakness in Trump's eyes - which is correct.
Michael should have countered that he came up with the robe idea - and it was endorsed by the team... and that no one else came up with anything better. He was faultless.
Brent is methodical - he got under their skin and won. In E#3, the team now has to move beyond Brent. If Brent is part of the discussion, the team is doomed. Brent is dangerous - and not to be taken lightly.
He won't be the Apprentice but he can take out many candidates out... before he is released.
watch the reaction to the boardroom... this will be the best of all of seasons!!

Yeah, Trump has a tendency to hate on NYC natives who screw up locations.
There were a lot of woulda, coulda, shoulda moments in this episode. I think what it came down to for me is whether you want to judge the candidates solely on the merits of this particular task or try to take a bird's eye view of the situation. If you only look at the text messaging task, yes, the right decision was probably made. If you take a wider view, I think it becomes apparent that Brent is the issue and Trump made the wrong decision.
Nevertheless, your point about Trump's reason for firing Stacey is well taken and Michael should have done a better job defending himself. (Though with the way Summer was fired, do you really want to say anything?)
Summer was fired because she interupted Trump. Michael had his moment when asked about the robes. If he flys right - he can survive.
I understand your point about Bird' eye - and last year Trump fired more for emotion than substance. However - when handed a task, you must shine. Fail (or snooze) you lose. Donald fired the right two people. Brent is a fly in ointment and Trump recognizes he is like a vendor or union leader or city bueracrat - so he wants to see how the candidates can manage him - then force him out. This will help ratings this season as well... I think.
Brent has to know - he can enjoy his waltz into the boardroom tonight but now must be aware he may be on the defensive politically. He makes an error - even a simple one - and he could be tossed with cause.
